Semester 2: Instant messaging

Week one of the second semester is for IM. I am somewhat familiar with this since we've been using it here at our library for a while now. I think it is a great tool for libraries in answering questions quickly. The speed of it, as opposed to email, is great for reference interviews. The biggest problem that I have experienced is being interrupted by in person patrons who don't realize you are in the middle of helping someone else.
